Skunk #1 IBL is a meticulously stabilized inbred line derived from Mel Frank’s original 1996 Skunk #1 seed stock, preserving one of the most iconic and genetically influential cultivars in cannabis history. This line represents a refined expression of the archetypal Skunk profile, stabilized over successive generations to lock in uniform morphology, vigorous growth, and the unmistakable skunky aromatic signature that defined an era.
Structurally, Skunk #1 IBL grows with medium to tall architecture and consistent internodal spacing. The cultivar features a balanced bract-to-leaf ratio, with vigorous lateral branching and uniform flower production. Hardy, adaptable, and vigorous, it performs well in both controlled and open environments. As a true IBL, it remains a cornerstone selection for breeders seeking stability, classic expression, and foundational aromatic intensity.
It expresses a surprisingly sweet and fruit-forward aromatic profile, with dominant notes of ripe melon, citrus zest, and soft earth. Beneath the sweetness, subtle thiol-like expressions contribute a faint nose-tingling sharpness, adding lift without veering into acrid or ammonia territory. The finish is clean yet persistent, leaving behind delicate citrus and mineral traces that linger on the senses.

100% In-House
“Everything has a beginning” starts in-house with our seed production. Our breeding, pheno hunting, tissue culture, nursery, clones, seeds, order fulfillment, and even the weekly podcast is all done on-site at our facility. We literally do everything in-house, except for 3rd party testing.
TISSUE CULTURE
James Loud Genetics onsite tissue culture laboratory run by Justin Givens is state of the art. Our program uses advanced meristem TC technique for cleaning and preservation. We strive to provide the cleanest genetics available for both retail and commercial use.
Pathogen Negative
We put a lot of effort into cleaning and banking our genetic library and keeping them that way. We test the plants in our facility regularly to make sure we stay clean and maintain our quality standards. We have onsite PCR testing for viruses, viroids, and bacterial load.

COA TESTED
We use third-party verification for testing cannabinoids and terpenes to keep us honest. All of our genetics are tested, and we love sharing the results via QR code on our packaging. When our customers make a purchase, we want them to understand what to expect and what the potential is when growing out our genetics.

Excellent seeds!
I had to order the skunk x skunk ibl seeds. Hoping it takes me back to the late 90’s early 2000’s. And thank you for the bonus banana punch auto’s, I just them all popped and potted. Looking forward to the harvest! Keep up the great work with the podcast, you’re educating us all in a field that has been underground for ever. Big ups!
