Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) – Variations
SOP Versions
Genetic Intake
SOPs should guide the acquisition and intake of diverse cannabis genetics, ensuring the precise documentation and validation of each genetic variant, enabling traceability, and compliance with regulatory requisites.
Sanitation
SOPs outline sanitation protocols, including basic practices like handwashing, to maintain a sterile environment, prevent contamination, and maintain plant health. SOPs should include precise procedures for entering and exiting the grow space and sterilizing tools to ensure pest and pathogen mitigation is built into all work.
Seed Production
Standardized procedures govern the production of seeds, optimizing the conditions for seed development and ensuring seeds are high quality and viable.
Cloning
Clones are often sold as an end-product directly to customers. Cloning SOPs ensure product consistency as well as uniformity in the garden. Cloning SOPs should include precise measurement and use of rooting hormones, sanitation procedures, and procedures to determine when the clone is ready for sale or planting.
Breeding
The breeding SOPs offer structured guidelines for cross-breeding, back-breeding, and other breeding techniques, enabling the development and stabilization of cultivars with desirable characteristics such as taste, aroma, yield, and resilience.

100% In-House
“Everything has a beginning” starts in-house with our seed production. Our breeding, pheno hunting, tissue culture, nursery, clones, seeds, order fulfillment, and even the weekly podcast is all done on-site at our facility. We literally do everything in-house, except for 3rd party testing.
TISSUE CULTURE
James Loud Genetics onsite tissue culture laboratory run by Justin Givens is state of the art. Our program uses advanced meristem TC technique for cleaning and preservation. We strive to provide the cleanest genetics available for both retail and commercial use.
Pathogen Negative
We put a lot of effort into cleaning and banking our genetic library and keeping them that way. We test the plants in our facility regularly to make sure we stay clean and maintain our quality standards. We have onsite PCR testing for viruses, viroids, and bacterial load.
COA TESTED
We use third-party verification for testing cannabinoids and terpenes to keep us honest. All of our genetics are tested, and we love sharing the results via QR code on our packaging. When our customers make a purchase, we want them to understand what to expect and what the potential is when growing out our genetics.
